Director, Solutions Engineering, NA

Role overview Lead solutions engineering for customer data center requirements across North America and emerging markets. The work spans customer discovery, site-specific technical design, commercial coordination, and handoff to delivery teams, shaping solutions that meet requirements for space, power, cooling, connectivity, and related infrastructure.

Responsibilities - Engage customers to understand their goals and technical needs; conduct site assessments and support technical due diligence, RFPs, and RFIs. - Present proposed solutions through technical discussions, workshops, and site visits, explaining design choices to varied audiences. - Design data center solutions that address space, power, cooling, airflow, network connectivity, telecoms, security, and supporting areas as needed. - Prepare technical proposals, scopes of work, clarifications, and risk considerations with design and asset teams; review service orders and validate costs. - Coordinate with sales, design, construction, operations, commercial, and legal partners on pricing, delivery timing, forecasts, and complete implementation handoffs. - Share customer and market insights with product, site development, design, and leadership teams, and keep current on industry practices.

Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field. - Seven to ten years of solutions engineering or related experience, including three to five years in a leadership role; experience managing engineering teams and complex technical delivery. - Demonstrated ability to design high-density data center infrastructure, including power, cooling, airflow, and space optimization. - Knowledge of AI and high-performance computing environments, GPUs or specialized processors, liquid cooling, power distribution and UPS systems, network architecture, fiber optics, and connectivity. - Strong engineering foundation and familiarity with software development and system architecture. - Excellent communication, presentation, leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills; able to make strategic, data-informed decisions.
