About this role

Role overview

Own the product direction for networking features that make devices, applications, and services reachable by name across private networks and, where needed, from the public internet. The work spans DNS, application routing, service connectivity, and secure public exposure, with a strong focus on making complex network capabilities understandable and operable for engineers and IT administrators.

Responsibilities - Set the strategy, roadmap, and execution plan for DNS, application connectors, service connectivity, and secure ingress features. - Shape how administrators configure, segment, monitor, and troubleshoot these capabilities through web and command-line interfaces. - Work with go-to-market, customer success, and solutions teams on production needs and strategic customer deployments. - Develop a clear migration path from reverse proxies, bastion hosts, cloud ingress, and service meshes. - Build ongoing insight into needs ranging from individual self-hosted services to enterprise-scale network infrastructure.

Requirements - At least seven years in product management, including ownership of an application-layer connectivity product such as DNS, an API gateway, a proxy, a service mesh, or secure tunneling. - Experience making complex networking systems easier to use through thoughtful product models, defaults, and configuration flows. - End-to-end ownership of a product area, from strategy and requirements through launch and ongoing iteration. - A record of data-informed decisions, including defining metrics and using evidence to revise a decision.

Nice to have - Experience balancing product-led adoption with enterprise sales needs. - Familiarity with Kubernetes networking, ingress, Gateway API, operators, or service exposure. - Practical experience with secure tunneling, public exposure, or identity-aware access products. - Background in abuse prevention, rate limiting, VPN or tunneling protocols, BGP, or private cloud connectivity. - Public technical writing, conference presentations, open-source contributions, or hands-on use of mesh networking tools.

Benefits and work setup - Remote-first work, with flexible paid time off, health coverage, retirement contributions, and support for home office equipment and internet. - The compensation package includes base pay and equity. The listed US base salary range is $177,000–$221,000.
