Senior Information Security Analyst

Role overview Strengthen an organization’s security monitoring and incident response capabilities by investigating threats, protecting digital assets, and improving defensive practices. This senior role leads complex investigations and forensics, guides analysts, and helps engineering and leadership teams understand and manage security risks. The position is remote, open to candidates across North America.

Responsibilities - Hunt for malicious activity and assess emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and risks using security feeds and telemetry. - Analyze alerts and logs from endpoints, cloud services, email, and network traffic to identify signs of compromise. - Lead major incident response efforts, direct forensic investigations, and coordinate containment and remediation. - Mentor less experienced analysts and advise internal teams on technical investigation and forensic matters. - Maintain response procedures, playbooks, and security awareness materials; deliver training to varied audiences. - Support assurance and compliance work by documenting controls and providing evidence for external reviews.

Requirements - Experience in incident response, digital forensics, or security operations, including investigation of alerts and logs from varied sources. - Ability to examine Windows, Linux, and macOS systems for indicators of compromise, including acquiring and analyzing endpoint evidence. - Experience collaborating with both technical and business stakeholders to resolve security events. - Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and explain technical topics clearly.

Nice to have - Familiarity with security platforms such as SIEM, EDR, SOAR, vulnerability scanners, email security, or internet gateways. - Exposure to red-team exercises, cloud services, or creating and delivering security training.
