Director of Product Management and IT Operations

Role overview

Lead product direction and IT operations for a software platform supporting employee benefits administration. This leadership role combines roadmap ownership and product delivery with technical oversight, security and compliance responsibilities, and hands-on operational support.

Responsibilities - Define and prioritize the product roadmap with product leadership, aligning planned work with business goals and the technology direction. - Lead product development from idea through launch by gathering user feedback, writing user stories and specifications, and coordinating with a distributed development team. - Guide engineers on feature development, enhancements, and operational issues. - Oversee security practices and work toward compliance with relevant standards, including SOC 2 and HIPAA. - Manage relationships with customers, investors, internal teams, and operations staff; gather requirements and share progress. - Run day-to-day IT operations and helpdesk support, resolving issues and coordinating urgent fixes, including during employee onboarding.

Requirements - Extensive product management experience, supported by a strong background in software development and project management. - Direct experience in employee benefits or benefits administration technology. - Ability to shape practical software solutions for complex real-world needs. - Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Experience managing or collaborating with global or offshore development teams. - Working knowledge of IT operations, helpdesk support, and cybersecurity principles; familiarity with SOC 2 and HIPAA is highly desirable. - Leadership skills to motivate teams and manage a busy workload in a fast-moving environment.
