Networking Deployment Engineer

Role overview A fully remote engineering role focused on preparing rack-scale cloud infrastructure for the diverse network environments customers operate in. The position blends systems software engineering with networking expertise, building emulators, testbeds, and verification tooling so deployments succeed across heterogeneous production settings. The work spans the full networking stack — from firmware on custom switching hardware up through higher-level distributed systems code.

Responsibilities - Partner with systems engineers to study customer deployment scenarios and harden the platform for varied network topologies. - Design and build tooling that emulates and analyzes complex networks, mirroring what customers run in production. - Dive into distributed-systems observability — logging, tracing, and metrics — to validate behavior across the stack. - Write code in Rust, P4, and related languages, contributing to open-source projects used to model and deploy networked systems. - Coordinate with customer support to anticipate and prepare for new classes of deployment environments.

Requirements - Background spanning software engineering and networked systems, either a software engineer leaning into networking or a networking engineer leaning into systems programming. - Strong systems programming skills, with hands-on experience writing production-quality code (Rust and/or P4 familiarity expected). - Solid grasp of computer networking fundamentals and distributed-systems concepts. - Comfort working across the full stack, from low-level firmware on switching hardware through user-facing software. - A belief that validation and verification of cloud infrastructure is an engineering discipline worth investing in deeply.

Nice to have - Experience with network emulation, modeling, or simulation frameworks. - Familiarity with rack-scale or data-center fabric architectures. - Prior contributions to open-source infrastructure tooling.
