Role overview
Build backend capabilities for configurable spending controls and task-driven financial workflows, including approvals for card requests and bank transfers, transaction review, and employee reimbursements. The role combines hands-on development with technical design in a cross-functional team, with a focus on secure, maintainable services and reliable payment operations.
Responsibilities - Develop and evolve backend services for a financial platform and its workflow capabilities. - Design secure, scalable microservices and REST APIs for product features and external integrations. - Contribute to architectural decisions and technical proposals across the engineering group. - Work closely with product, design, and frontend colleagues to shape and deliver features. - Monitor production services, investigate problems, and improve performance and reliability. - Build unit, integration, and end-to-end tests for service behavior.
Requirements - At least five years of relevant experience with Java and Spring Boot. - Strong ability to design testable, maintainable, and extensible software, and to weigh engineering trade-offs. - Understanding of distributed system patterns and common failure modes. - Experience building REST APIs and working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL. - Experience with agentic programming, AWS, and Docker.
Nice to have
Terraform experience is a plus.
