Chief Technology Officer

Role overview Set the technical direction for products spanning decentralized systems, AI, and financial infrastructure. As a founding technology leader, you’ll shape architecture, guide engineering priorities with the CEO, and build the team and practices needed to deliver reliable systems over the long term.

Responsibilities - Define technical vision and architecture standards across product, protocol, and research work. - Lead the engineering team, develop its capabilities, and establish effective engineering practices. - Turn product and business strategy into clear technical priorities and delivery decisions. - Evaluate technology stacks, tools, and service providers with long-term needs in mind. - Guide architecture and implementation with attention to security, privacy, and applicable compliance needs. - Explain technical tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders and connect engineering decisions to user and mission outcomes.

Requirements - Deep expertise in full-stack web development, API architecture, and cloud infrastructure. - Experience leading engineers and making architectural choices that can scale. - Strong judgment balancing technical quality with the pace of an early-stage organization. - Knowledge of security, data privacy, and compliance considerations for financial or identity systems. - Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and relate them to business goals. - Experience building and operating production systems.

Nice to have - Blockchain experience, particularly with Cardano, Aiken, or Plutus. - Familiarity with AI or machine learning in edge or decentralized settings. - Contributions to or maintenance of open-source projects. - Exposure to federated learning, zero-knowledge systems, or IoT integration.
