Golang Technical Lead (Perm, UK, Remote + Travel)

Role overview

Lead software engineering teams delivering client projects, from clarifying business needs to making architectural decisions and guiding implementation. The role combines hands-on technical direction, delivery accountability and team leadership, with work primarily remote for candidates based in the UK and occasional travel to client sites.

Responsibilities - Guide and develop engineers through technical leadership, mentoring and, where applicable, line management. - Own successful project delivery, identify blockers early and keep clients and internal leaders informed. - Work with clients to turn business and technical needs into clear plans and technical briefs. - Shape architecture with attention to scalability, security and maintainability. - Help teams apply sound engineering, testing, DevOps and Agile practices. - Address operational needs such as monitoring, performance, accessibility, security and data protection.

Requirements - Significant software engineering experience, including leading projects as a senior engineer or technical lead. - Strong experience with Go; familiarity with languages such as JavaScript or Python is useful. - Experience working directly with clients or customers to understand technical requirements. - A record of leading engineering teams through delivery, by line management or mentoring. - Deep understanding of Agile methods, design patterns, test-driven development, testing practices and Git. - Understanding of DevOps and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP, plus strong communication and people skills.

Benefits and work setup

Permanent, full-time and remote for UK-based candidates, with occasional UK client-site travel. The package includes an annual company-performance bonus, 25 days of annual leave plus public holidays, flexible working, private healthcare, pension matching up to 5%, and income protection and death-in-service cover. A remote-work allowance of up to €1,250 equivalent in GBP is available every two years, alongside a learning and development allowance.
