Remote job
Senior Software Engineer | Kubernetes Automation
Job details
About this role
Role overview Build distributed systems that make real-time decisions about Kubernetes infrastructure, from node provisioning and workload placement to resource sizing and storage optimization. The challenge is to improve efficiency while keeping customer workloads available as cloud capacity and cluster conditions change.
Responsibilities - Design and build services that automate Kubernetes infrastructure decisions at scale. - Develop production Go services that manage cloud resources through provider APIs. - Deliver features end-to-end, from design and implementation through testing and production rollout. - Investigate complex production issues across cloud providers, clusters, and distributed services. - Work with time-series data, cloud APIs, and Kubernetes control-plane behavior to solve infrastructure problems. - Collaborate on product priorities and participate in on-call rotations where required.
Requirements - Strong software-engineering fundamentals, including clean abstractions, maintainable code, and sound technical decisions. - Production Go experience is preferred; comparable systems-programming experience can also apply. - Understanding of Kubernetes internals, particularly autoscaling and networking. - Experience personally driving a complex project through completion. - Production experience with observability, CI/CD, and DevOps practices. - Hands-on experience with AI coding agents, strong English communication, and an adaptable approach to ambiguous work.
Nice to have - Deep experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure, including compute, networking, and storage behavior. - Managed Kubernetes internals, container runtimes, CSI or volume management, or filesystem knowledge. - Low-level Linux networking or process expertise, eBPF, or systems programming in C or C++. - Contributions to Kubernetes or other cloud-native open-source projects.
