Software Engineer III, Service AI Transformation

Role overview Build software services that turn existing documents and data into AI-enabled workflows across clinical, commercial and operational areas. Working in a small, autonomous engineering team, this role spans cloud services, integrations and internal user interfaces, with a focus on reliable event-driven systems and practical generative AI applications.

Responsibilities - Implement event-driven workflows and service integrations using AWS serverless services and infrastructure managed with CDK or Terraform. - Build AI transformation pipelines that orchestrate prompts, create embeddings and use retrieval-augmented generation patterns. - Develop internal tools and dashboards with React or Next.js, backed by GraphQL APIs. - Connect services to Kafka streams for communication with domain microservices. - Contribute to unit, integration and load testing, as well as AI-specific evaluation such as prompt regression checks and hallucination detection. - Instrument services for observability and participate in CI/CD, design reviews and code reviews; work with senior engineers and product partners to scope tasks.

Requirements - At least four years of professional experience delivering production cloud services. - Experience with AWS serverless architectures and event-streaming patterns, including Kafka. - Proficiency with TypeScript or JavaScript, React or Next.js, and GraphQL. - Practical experience with AI orchestration, prompt engineering, guardrails, data validation and RAG patterns. - Familiarity with CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code tools such as CDK or Terraform.

Nice to have - Experience in healthcare, genomics or another regulated field; understanding of privacy or compliance requirements such as HIPAA. - Exposure to vector search and semantic similarity techniques.
