Role overview
Lead complex technology projects from kickoff through delivery and closeout, guiding professional services teams toward outcomes defined in customer agreements. The role combines schedule, scope, budget, resource, risk, communication, and quality management across a broad IT services portfolio, while coordinating customers, technical teams, stakeholders, and third-party partners.
Responsibilities - Build and maintain project plans with milestones, dependencies, quality gates, and clear ownership; track progress and address schedule variances. - Keep delivery aligned with agreed scope, and manage formal change requests when requirements shift. - Monitor project financial health, profitability targets, billing milestones, and earned value. - Assign and coordinate project resources, adjusting plans as delivery needs change. - Identify, document, and mitigate risks and issues with project teams and stakeholders. - Set communication and escalation routines, oversee vendor deliverables, and confirm completed work meets contractual requirements and customer expectations. - Capture lessons learned and support improvements to delivery practices.
Requirements - Seven or more years managing enterprise IT projects, including complex initiatives and teams of up to 10 people. - Seven or more years of project management experience in IT professional services, infrastructure, Azure cloud, or managed services. - Working knowledge of project management methods and the ability to lead in a matrixed environment. - Familiarity with IT infrastructure, cloud, or managed services sufficient to coordinate effectively with engineers. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Project, and experience with project, portfolio, or workforce management systems. - A bachelor’s degree in a related field and formal project management training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Nice to have
PMP certification is strongly preferred. CAPM, ITIL, CSM, or technical certifications are beneficial.
Benefits and work setup
Most work can be done remotely, with minimal travel. The listed salary range is $130,000–$140,000 plus bonus.
