Senior Product Manager

Role overview A senior product leader is needed to shape strategy and execution for an open-source, multimodal AI data platform that powers vector search, retrieval, and large-scale dataset exploration for teams building production AI systems. The role sits at the intersection of infrastructure and product, taking high-level direction and turning it into clear priorities, shipped features, and measurable outcomes. Success means sharpening the platform's fit for its core technical audience while giving engineering crisp guidance on what to build next.

Responsibilities - Co-author the product roadmap alongside engineering leadership and translate strategy into sequenced, well-communicated priorities - Run continuous research into competitors, adjacent technologies, and user workflows to surface opportunities and threats - Maintain a steady cadence of user conversations, interviews, support feedback, and design-partner sessions, converting insights into concrete product changes - Lead cross-functional alignment with engineering, field, and support teams on trade-offs, sequencing, and resourcing - Operate as a technically credible peer to engineers, joining deep technical discussions and architectural reviews - Use metrics, experiments, and usage data to validate hypotheses and inform prioritization

Requirements - 10+ years as a software engineer or in a deeply technical product role - Track record of shipping and iterating on products end-to-end - Hands-on experience with large-scale data platforms such as databases, data infrastructure, or ML/AI systems - Familiarity with the AI researcher persona: their workflows, pain points, and what makes them successful - Demonstrated ownership of ambiguous initiatives with minimal guidance - Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to align diverse teams

Nice to have - Experience contributing to or working alongside open-source communities - Comfort using data, experiments, and usage signals to guide day-to-day decisions
