Senior Application Support Specialist (d/f/m) Mass Spectrometry

Role overview Provide expert application support for mass spectrometry customers in pharmaceutical, clinical, and forensic settings. The field-based role combines pre-sales demonstrations and technical advice with post-sales training, method development, troubleshooting, and collaboration across regional and global support teams. The position is based in Switzerland, preferably near Basel, and includes travel across the wider EMEA region.

Responsibilities - Support sales through customer visits, product and application demonstrations, seminars, workshops, and sample analysis. - Train customers on site and in-house, provide telephone support, and troubleshoot application or instrument issues in a timely manner. - Help customers develop analytical methods and resolve challenges in their workflows. - Share field observations on competition, market conditions, technical problems, and product opportunities with sales and marketing teams. - Coordinate with local, European, and global colleagues to resolve customer issues and provide regional travel support.

Requirements - Degree or PhD in chemistry, life sciences, or equivalent experience. - Practical background in analytical chemistry, including chromatography and mass spectrometry method development and troubleshooting. - Familiarity with HPLC-MS technologies and applications; experience with both nominal and accurate-mass methods is relevant. - Fluent German and good spoken and written English. - Strong communication, presentation, organization, and prioritization skills. - Willingness to travel and a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Nice to have - Experience with pharmaceutical, clinical, or forensic workflows and relevant mass spectrometry instruments. - French language skills.
