About this role
Role overview
Lead and develop a team of sales engineers who help enterprise merchants assess and integrate a financial product. The role combines people management with hands-on technical selling: you’ll guide discovery and solution discussions, help resolve integration challenges, and work across revenue, product, and engineering teams to improve merchant outcomes and team processes.
Responsibilities
- Mentor and grow sales engineers, setting expectations for technical skills, customer engagement, and performance. - Join customer opportunities to lead or support discovery, integration planning, and technical presentations. - Build relationships with merchant technical and business leaders, providing senior support when needed. - Maintain practical knowledge of APIs and integration approaches; build, test, and troubleshoot integrations in sandbox environments. - Coach the team in using AI development tools for prototypes, integrations, and testing, while ensuring code quality. - Bring merchant needs and recurring integration issues to product and engineering teams, and improve internal processes. - Create a supportive team environment with clear feedback and opportunities for growth.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business or a technology field. - Four to six or more years in sales engineering, solutions engineering, or a comparable customer-facing technical role. - Three to four years of people management experience and a record of developing technical talent. - Willingness and ability to remain hands-on in customer conversations and technical work. - Experience building and troubleshooting API integrations, with proficiency in at least one programming language. - Strong judgment translating business needs into technical recommendations, explaining tradeoffs, and identifying implementation risks. - Clear communication with developers, business stakeholders, and senior leaders.
Benefits and work setup
- Remote-first work within the country of employment, with occasional office work possible for some roles and in-person onboarding. - Employee and dependent health premiums covered, technology and wellness stipends, flexible time off, holidays, and a discounted employee stock purchase plan.
