Architect - Data Governance Platforms

Role overview Design and deliver cloud data governance solutions, taking ownership of architecture from discovery through implementation. You will lead technical workstreams, guide engineering teams, and connect governance needs to secure, reliable, and maintainable systems on Azure.

Responsibilities - Lead end-to-end solution architecture, balancing business value, security, scalability, reliability, performance, and cost. - Design and implement governance capabilities using a major platform such as a master data management suite, a cloud data catalog, or a lakehouse catalog. - Guide engineers through implementation, design reviews, and practical architectural decisions; help resolve delivery risks and dependencies. - Run discovery and requirements sessions, shape prioritized backlogs, and explain technical options to both technical and business stakeholders. - Coordinate across teams and support predictable, incremental delivery with clear standards and acceptance criteria. - Develop reusable delivery assets and share practices that improve engineering quality, including responsible use of AI-assisted tools.

Requirements - At least 7 years of experience in data governance or data management in cloud environments, including 2 or more years working with Azure. - Demonstrated experience delivering governance programs and working across at least two data management areas, such as warehousing and BI, data science and ML, master data management, governance, or data quality. - Deep implementation experience with at least one major governance platform, such as master data management, enterprise catalog and lineage, or lakehouse catalog and access controls. - Strong understanding of data platforms and analytics ecosystems, enterprise governance processes, and relevant cloud services. - Experience leading hybrid or remote teams and delivering work in Agile or Scrum settings. - Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to stay hands-on while designing and explaining complex solutions.

Nice to have - Consulting or professional services experience. - Experience with AI-augmented development or integrating AI and machine learning capabilities into solutions.
