Role overview
This is a server-side engineering role supporting a large-scale poker title within a distributed, collaborative team. The work centers on building social gaming experiences that connect players worldwide, with a focus on high-performance backend services and systems architecture. The right candidate is a self-driven engineer who communicates well, thrives under tight deadlines, and contributes across multi-week and multi-month initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Build features and gameplay functionality in Go - Develop and integrate new technologies, tools, and SDKs - Extend the internals of core systems as product needs evolve - Spot and address team or process inefficiencies, including through code review - Apply secure coding practices and mitigate security risks during design and implementation - Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to align technical work with product and design goals
Requirements
- B.Sc. in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent education and work experience - 2+ years of game industry or mobile application development experience - Prior game development experience on shipped titles or live games - Working knowledge of Golang, C#, and HTML - Strong experience implementing APIs and services using gRPC and REST - Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and standard software methodologies, plus familiarity with the full software development life cycle
Nice to have
- Unity experience - Versioning and build systems such as Git and Jenkins - Performance profiling and optimization - Familiarity with Docker, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Kafka, Redis, AWS, gRPC, and Protobuf - Monitoring tools such as Bugsnag, Splunk/ELK, and Datadog - Multiplayer or realtime systems experience
