Senior Backend Engineer (.NET)

Role overview Evolve the commerce and payment platforms powering global subscriptions for a password and access management service used by individuals and organizations. Working primarily in .NET, this senior role focuses on modernizing services, integrating payment gateways, and supporting regional payment methods on infrastructure that handles e-commerce and billing at scale.

Responsibilities - Design and implement scalable .NET services and REST APIs for commerce and payment capabilities - Deliver payment gateway integrations and regional payment method support - Contribute to planning, design, and feature delivery with a cross-functional engineering team - Advocate for non-functional requirements and develop cost-effective solutions within your domain - Collaborate across teams and influence architectural direction for the platform - Coach and mentor engineers, raising engineering quality and team capability - Shape a customer-facing application with new features aligned to user and business needs

Requirements - Proven experience with C# and .NET Core for web application development - Proven experience designing, building, and consuming REST APIs - Proven experience with relational databases and Entity Framework Core - Solid grounding in OOP best practices, Docker containerisation, and web security principles - Proven experience designing and operating microservice architectures - Clear and confident communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice to have - Ability to create architecture documentation, ADRs, and RFCs - Experience with commerce systems and various payment providers - Knowledge of Zuora development - Experience with AWS (including Secrets Manager) or another cloud provider, plus background services - Foundational knowledge of Angular
