Job details
About this role
Role overview A senior engineering position focused on Rust development for bare metal infrastructure and datacenter networking systems. The role contributes to a platform that provisions and manages physical servers as a service, sitting within a computer software engineering organization and operating across distributed, large-scale infrastructure.
Responsibilities - Design and implement Rust services that handle bare metal server provisioning, imaging, and lifecycle management - Build networking components and control-plane logic for datacenter fabric operations - Develop reliable, concurrent systems code that interacts with low-level hardware and operating system interfaces - Contribute to architectural decisions around scalability, fault tolerance, and operational reliability - Collaborate with platform, networking, and operations engineers to deliver infrastructure-as-a-service workflows - Write production-grade code with appropriate testing, observability, and performance characteristics
Requirements - Senior-level professional experience in software engineering - Strong proficiency in Rust, including ownership, async patterns, and systems-level programming - Solid understanding of Linux systems and low-level networking concepts - Familiarity with datacenter networking protocols, switching, or routing - Experience working on infrastructure, distributed systems, or backend services at scale - Ability to work effectively in a remote, EU-based engineering environment
Nice to have - Background with bare metal provisioning tools or out-of-band management interfaces such as IPMI, BMC, or similar standards - Experience with network virtualization, SDN, or overlay networking - Familiarity with hardware abstraction layers, firmware, or PXE-based provisioning - Exposure to orchestration platforms used for managing physical or virtualized compute
