Job details
About this role
Role overview
This Senior Back End Engineer role focuses on building and scaling the integrations platform for a business planning and forecasting product used by finance teams. The position centers on ingesting, normalizing, and annotating business data from external systems, then turning that foundation into reusable, low-code tooling. It combines hands-on coding, architecture, and cross-functional collaboration with product, design, financial experts, and customers.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of an integrations platform that ingests, normalizes, and annotates business data at scale. - Build and scale bidirectional integrations with billing, accounting, ERP, commerce, and HRIS platforms. - Architect low-code and no-code tools such as connector builders, declarative DSLs, and LLM-assisted workflows, choosing between unified APIs, in-house builds, or contractors. - Implement and maintain authentication and identity flows including OAuth 2.0/OIDC, SSO providers, SAML, and service-to-service patterns, with secure handling of tokens and secrets. - Ensure integrations are secure, resilient, and performant under high-volume financial and transactional workloads. - Establish technical standards and guide architecture across integrations and other data-heavy systems.
Requirements
- 7+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 2 years focused on integrations. - Strong background building integrations for data-heavy use cases. - Hands-on depth in Python and modern backend systems. - Experience architecting or working on integrations platforms, data platforms, or similar large-scale API ecosystems. - Pragmatic judgment about when to ship quickly versus investing in foundational architecture. - Curiosity and persistence in tackling ambiguous, high-stakes problems like low-code builder design and LLM-assisted workflows.
Benefits and work setup
- Competitive compensation including an equity package, competitive vacation policy, medical insurance, an L&D budget, access to a wellbeing platform, and language courses in English or Spanish.
