Role overview
Maintain and expand the physical server, network, and cabling infrastructure that supports production data center environments. This hands-on operations role covers deployments, hardware and connectivity troubleshooting, maintenance coordination, and asset records. The position is remote from Amsterdam and includes substantial domestic and international travel.
Responsibilities
- Install and lifecycle-manage equipment through rack deployments and structured cabling work. - Diagnose and resolve hardware and network faults, including repairing or replacing failing components. - Work through operational tickets and complete scheduled corrective maintenance and break/fix tasks. - Coordinate with engineering teams, system owners, and third-party technicians to verify installations and repairs. - Keep asset tracking and infrastructure documentation accurate and up to date.
Requirements
- At least 5 years working in production data centers, including experience engaging and directing remote data center vendors. - Strong knowledge of server platforms, network hardware, optics, fiber infrastructure, and copper cabling. - Proficiency with Linux or Unix command-line tools, BIOS configuration, and out-of-band management such as iLO, iDRAC, or IPMI. - Experience using AI tools, automation, or scripting to improve operational workflows or diagnostics. - U.S. citizenship is required for the assigned customer work. - Ability to repeatedly lift and carry up to 50 pounds for physical deployments.
