About this role
Role overview
A CAD graphics engine software engineer position on a small graphics team building next-generation hardware design tooling. The platform centers on a GPU-optimized engine that produces boundary representations rather than meshes, so the work focuses on enabling faster, more reliable geometry and modeling for hardware product designs.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain CAD modeling algorithms, including B-Rep data structures and topological operations - Build and maintain rendering code inside the graphics core of the CAD engine - Implement low-level architectural systems that interface with graphics APIs, modeling, rendering, and proceduralization pipelines - Profile and optimize code for load times, memory usage, and platform-specific performance characteristics - Build deep familiarity with product strategy and customer use cases in order to inform engineering decisions - Document functionality and implementation details for production engineers and peers
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience - Proficiency with C++14/17 - Substantial experience with 3D graphics, rendering, and modeling algorithms - Substantial experience with 3D graphics APIs such as Vulkan or OpenGL - Experience with GPU computing APIs such as CUDA - Strong familiarity with the inner workings of CAD 3D editors such as Blender, Maya, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent - Comfort with Git and full-pipeline work spanning both low-level and visualization-focused aspects of graphics
Benefits and work setup
Salary range of $145,000–$195,000 USD, with final offer depending on experience, skills, and market data, and varying by geography. Competitive equity and a full benefits package are offered, with benefits details varying by geography. The team supports both local and remote work.
