Role overview
This position focuses on the networking and protocol layer of a privacy-first browser with built-in AI features. The engineer will design and implement decentralized networking capabilities on top of an existing browser codebase, working remotely as part of a distributed team.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain decentralized networking features that extend a privacy-first AI browser - Design protocol-level changes for peer-to-peer or distributed communication - Work alongside browser and AI engineers to integrate network features into the product surface - Investigate and resolve networking performance, reliability, and security issues - Document protocol decisions, trade-offs, and architectural choices for the broader team
Requirements
- Strong background in network engineering, distributed systems, or protocol design - Experience with peer-to-peer protocols, cryptography, or decentralized infrastructure - Comfort working across systems-level code, web standards, or low-level networking libraries - Awareness of privacy and anonymity considerations in networked applications - Ability to operate independently and collaborate asynchronously in a remote-first environment
