About this role

Role overview The Senior Data Engineer builds reliable, scalable pipelines and data products that power a healthcare vertical, turning complex provider, claims, prescription, and audience datasets into trusted foundations for segmentation, activation, measurement, and reporting. The role is hands-on, partnering with engineering and product to implement standards and own significant portions of the delivery lifecycle.

Responsibilities - Design, build, test, deploy, and operate production-grade pipelines for healthcare, identity, audience, media-exposure, and campaign-performance data using Python, SQL, Airflow, S3, Snowflake, and EMR. - Implement maintainable data models, transformations, and governed datasets spanning provider identity, claims/Rx, NPI/HCP, media, brand, and connector data. - Build Airflow workflows with clear dependencies, retries, alerting, data-quality checks, and runbooks; leverage EMR for compute-intensive enrichment and normalization. - Apply privacy-by-design practices for PHI and PII, including access controls, masking, approved joins, retention, and auditability. - Implement data-quality controls, reconciliation, monitoring, alerting, and incident-response practices for critical data products. - Partner with product, analytics, data science, and platform teams to translate healthcare and business requirements into resilient technical solutions, while mentoring less-experienced engineers.

Requirements - 5–8 years of hands-on data engineering experience, including ownership of production pipelines and data models, with healthcare data exposure (provider/HCP, claims, prescription, patient/DTC, or healthcare audiences). - Strong Python and expert SQL skills across Snowflake, Hive, and Athena. - Hands-on experience with AWS data services, especially S3, plus a modern cloud data warehouse; Snowflake, Airflow, and EMR strongly preferred. - Practical knowledge of HIPAA, PHI/PII handling, and regulated healthcare data operations. - Experience with data modeling, schema evolution, batch processing, orchestration, testing, CI/CD, and production support.

Nice to have - Background in AdTech/MarTech, identity resolution, audience onboarding, segmentation, attribution, or campaign reporting. - Familiarity with data cataloging, lineage, observability, Docker, Kubernetes/EKS, infrastructure as code, clean rooms, or ML/AI-enabled data products.

Benefits and work setup - Unlimited PTO, medical/dental/vision coverage, equity, employee discounts, virtual wellness classes, and pet insurance.
