Role overview A senior engineering role within a remote LATAM team focused on building secure, scalable data platform capabilities and governance automation for enterprise and AI-enabled applications. The position partners with domain experts, product managers, governance teams, and engineers to convert technical controls into reliable, reusable platform services.
Responsibilities - Architect secure, scalable data platform and governance automation capabilities using reusable, configuration-driven patterns. - Build automated controls for metadata, ownership, lineage, data quality, access, and policy enforcement. - Implement identity, authorization, least-privilege access, credential management, and auditability across the platform. - Develop secure APIs, MCP tools, and integrations that serve enterprise and AI-enabled applications. - Establish automated validation, testing, deployment, and monitoring, with observability for platform health and policy outcomes. - Own production-quality code, tests, documentation, and operational guidance while mentoring engineers across teams.
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or related STEM field (Bachelor's plus Master's or higher in STEM also accepted). - 6+ years of software or data engineering experience with equivalent demonstrated skill. - 6+ years with Python, SQL, distributed processing, data modeling, and modern data engineering frameworks. - Strong experience with cloud data platforms, data catalogs, metadata, lineage, data quality, and access controls. - Hands-on experience with Databricks, Unity Catalog, data lakes, Apache Spark, or comparable technologies. - Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, and environment standardization. - Full lifecycle experience spanning architecture, development, deployment, and production support.
Nice to have - GitLab CI/CD or comparable toolchains. - Policy-as-code and infrastructure-as-code on configuration-driven platforms. - Building data marketplaces, governance platforms, or internal developer platforms. - Familiarity with privacy, security, regulatory, and AI governance controls in regulated or risk-sensitive environments.
