AI Frontend Developer

Role overview

This role sits on an Artificial Intelligence team building the user-facing interfaces through which merchants and internal teams interact with AI in a global payments platform. The work spans copilots, agent workflows, conversational flows, streaming responses, and human-in-the-loop review screens that turn model outputs into fast, intuitive, and reliable experiences. The position owns frontend end to end, including the design system, reusable components, integration of LLM APIs with streaming responses, and the quality, performance, and accessibility of what is shipped. It is a remote role for candidates in Latin America, with AI-assisted development treated as a default part of daily work.

Responsibilities

- Build and evolve user-facing AI products including copilot and agent-style interfaces, conversational flows, streaming responses, and human-in-the-loop review screens. - Design and maintain the design system and web components used across internal applications and by third parties. - Build and evolve internal back-office tools that drive operational efficiency across teams. - Integrate LLM APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Gemini and backend services into the frontend, handling streaming, latency, and error states gracefully. - Write reusable, testable, and efficient code with unit and end-to-end tests and CI/CD as part of the workflow. - Collaborate with AI, data, backend, and product teams to translate complex AI capabilities like automation, recommendations, and decision support into simple, actionable UI components. - Champion an AI-first engineering culture using AI-assisted development, code generation, and automated testing, and care for performance, accessibility, and security in everything shipped.

Requirements

- 2+ years of professional experience building production web applications with React and TypeScript. - Strong knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Node.js, and modern tooling such as Git, NPM or Yarn, Next.js, and Storybook or similar. - Experience integrating REST and streaming APIs, including LLM APIs, into frontend applications. - Demonstrated experience with unit testing, end-to-end testing, and CI/CD. - Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot, plus an understanding of prompt engineering and evaluating model outputs in the UI. - Autonomy in task execution, comfort working in a fast-paced agile environment, and professional proficiency in English.

Nice to have

- Experience building interfaces for AI agents or copilot-style features in production. - Experience with Nest.js, Emotion, AWS services such as S3 and Amplify, and Docker. - Experience in the payments industry or integrating Payment Service Providers, plus knowledge of backend languages and willingness to work across the stack when needed.
