UI Engineering Lead

Role overview The UI Engineering Lead will drive the development of player-facing and internal user interfaces for a new action-oriented game franchise built in Unreal Engine 5. This leadership role blends hands-on C++ engineering with team management, shaping the UX systems that translate design vision into a polished runtime experience. The position partners daily with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver cohesive, responsive, and stable UI for a lighthearted, action-driven title.

Responsibilities - Architect, build, and maintain production-grade UI systems, tools, and workflows in C++ on Unreal Engine 5 - Hire, lead, and mentor a subdiscipline of UI engineers, providing technical coaching, feedback, and career development support - Offer technical guidance on UX and UI systems to teammates across gameplay and adjacent disciplines - Collaborate closely with designers and other disciplines to bring new player experiences to life - Ensure stability and responsiveness across systems spanning HUDs, front-end menus, fonts, and localization pipelines

Requirements - Strong proficiency writing, debugging, and maintaining C++ code in production environments - Demonstrated experience leading engineers through direct management, mentoring, or technical guidance - Hands-on background building a broad range of UX and UI systems, including HUDs, menus, typography, and localization workflows - Production experience developing within Unreal Engine - Clear communication skills for translating technical concepts for non-technical collaborators

Nice to have - Multi-platform development experience spanning PC and console - Background working on real-time action multiplayer games - Prior experience shipping one or more completed game titles - Experience managing contractors or external co-development partners
