Remote job
Computer Vision Engineer - Automation & Mobility
Job details
About this role
Role overview Build and bring to production camera and inertial sensor systems that help machines estimate their position and movement in real-world conditions. The work spans research, prototyping, and implementation of visual-inertial odometry, simultaneous localization and mapping, and six-degree-of-freedom pose estimation, in close collaboration with hardware, firmware, and software colleagues.
Responsibilities - Develop visual-inertial odometry and SLAM pipelines combining inertial measurements with monocular or stereo cameras. - Create and maintain camera models, calibration methods, and sensor synchronization across hardware configurations. - Apply optimization and filtering methods to improve the accuracy and reliability of pose estimates. - Assess new computer vision research for practical use in product systems. - Coordinate with hardware, firmware, and software teams to deliver complete perception capabilities.
Requirements - Strong grounding in computer vision, robotics, or sensor fusion; the supplied description indicates a hands-on engineering role but omits specific degree and experience criteria. - Ability to develop and deploy algorithms for camera-based perception and localization. - Familiarity with visual-inertial methods, SLAM, or six-degree-of-freedom pose estimation. - Experience with ROS, OpenCV, and common robotics tools is sought.
Benefits and work setup - Based in Enschede, Netherlands, with hybrid or remote work possible. - Flexible hours and 28 days of paid leave, with options to buy, sell, or carry over days. - Additional offerings include sports and bicycle tax benefits, paid volunteer time, access to financial planning, and staff social activities.
