About this role
Role overview A senior .NET engineering role on a multi-phase migration and modernization of a business-critical enterprise platform for an international rail transportation and asset-leasing company. The work combines modern application development with the discipline of preserving complex business rules, integrating with enterprise systems, and delivering incremental releases supported by strong automated testing.
Responsibilities - Build a reusable application platform with shared components and common development patterns. - Migrate existing business functionality while maintaining functional parity with the legacy system. - Investigate, understand, and document complex business rules, data structures, and dependencies. - Integrate the new solution with enterprise systems and support data migration activities. - Deliver incremental releases backed by automated testing, user acceptance testing, and post-release stabilization. - Collaborate closely with engineers, business stakeholders, and domain experts in a Scrum-based delivery model with two-week sprints.
Requirements - Strong C# and .NET experience building ASP.NET Core Web APIs in a REST-based, test-driven environment. - Proficiency with React and TypeScript on the front end and PostgreSQL for data storage. - Practical experience with Docker, Azure DevOps pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code practices; AWS exposure is a plus. - Hands-on experience with AI-powered development assistants such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor to improve delivery quality and productivity. - Solid understanding of automated testing approaches, including xUnit, Vitest, or Playwright. - Eligibility to work remotely from the European Union region with a valid work permit.
Nice to have - Experience applying generative AI more structurally across the software development lifecycle, including prompt patterns, defined workflows, or embedded tool integrations. - Interest in agent-based workflows, AI-augmented development, and emerging automation patterns.
