Software Engineer - Platform / Core Infrastructure - Americas

Role overview

A Software Engineer role on the Platform / Core Infrastructure team for an AI-powered offensive security platform. The engineer will design and run the distributed infrastructure behind a core AI engine and analysis systems, deploying across multiple cloud providers and delivery contexts. The position is remote within the Americas and sits at the intersection of deep infrastructure engineering, AI research and security research, with end-to-end ownership from design through production support.

Responsibilities

- Design and implement infrastructure that scales reliably and securely across multiple cloud environments (such as AWS, Azure and OCI) and delivery contexts including SaaS and on-premises. - Tune and optimize compute, storage, networking and observability to drive performance, reliability and maintainability of core services. - Develop core services in TypeScript, Kotlin and Go, picking up new languages quickly as needed. - Support large-scale event-driven systems and async workflows, including message queues such as Kafka. - Own problems end-to-end, from design and deployment through production support, while navigating ambiguity. - Partner closely with other engineers, AI researchers and security researchers to enable high-velocity product development. - Design for resilience through disaster recovery and business continuity strategies, and improve how services are built, deployed and monitored at scale.

Requirements

- Strong experience building and operating scalable, distributed systems on cloud infrastructure such as AWS. - Extensive hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, for example Docker and Kubernetes. - Comfort with infrastructure as code (such as Terraform or CDK), treating infrastructure as part of the engineering system. - Experience with event-driven architectures, message queues or async workflows. - A track record of performance tuning across cloud services, databases and compute layers. - A thoughtful communicator who values clarity and simplicity, comfortable working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and proactively thinking about failure modes.

Nice to have

- Experience deploying infrastructure across both SaaS and on-premises environments with resilient design. - Familiarity with modern observability practices (logs, metrics and tracing). - Early-stage startup experience, prior developer tooling or security product work, OpenSearch or Elasticsearch at scale, or experience building internal developer platforms.
