Senior Backend Engineer (Go/Rust)

Role overview Build the backend services and infrastructure behind a Postgres platform that supports database branching, data movement, and lifecycle management. Work within a backend team that covers both runtime infrastructure and the services and APIs used to manage it; the balance between those areas depends on team needs and your strengths. The role includes taking projects from early design through deployment and operation.

Responsibilities - Design and build core capabilities for Postgres infrastructure, including storage, provisioning, replication, orchestration, performance, and reliability. - Develop backend services and public APIs for hosted and self-managed offerings. - Work on database branching, data movement, and lifecycle workflows. - Own projects from identifying an opportunity and proposing an approach through implementation, deployment, and operations. - Contribute to open-source platform components and collaborate with backend, frontend, product, and platform colleagues. - Participate in architecture discussions and technical planning.

Requirements - Strong backend engineering experience, with Go and/or Rust relevant to the role. - Experience building and operating production software. - Ability to design, implement, deploy, and maintain services or infrastructure. - Effective collaboration across engineering and product disciplines.

Nice to have - Experience with PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure such as AWS or GCP. - Background in storage, replication, database systems, developer tools, or platform products. - Contributions to open-source software.
