Job details
About this role
Role overview Build and operate the infrastructure that keeps production software reliable across many separate federal and commercial customer environments. The role spans deployment automation, cloud and on-premise operations, observability, and incident response, with constraints such as disconnected networks, compliance rules, and limited maintenance windows.
Responsibilities - Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines and release automation for deployments running in parallel across 20 or more environments. - Monitor production health, manage alerts, respond to incidents, and conduct post-incident reviews. - Design infrastructure for restricted or disconnected networks, varied network setups, compliance controls, and limited access windows. - Build tools that show engineering teams the status of deployments without manual checks. - Automate repeatable operational work and coordinate with product engineers to make new features deployable across environments. - Operate cloud infrastructure and on-premise installations, and take part in production on-call rotations.
Requirements - At least four years in infrastructure engineering, SRE, DevOps, or platform engineering. - Strong experience with infrastructure as code and configuration management tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, Ansible, or Salt. - Deep Linux systems knowledge and experience diagnosing operating system issues. - Experience building CI/CD for complex, multi-environment deployments; proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes. - Experience with a major cloud provider and comfort working in regulated or highly constrained environments. - Willingness to work extended hours when production incidents require it.
Nice to have - Experience with federal, defense, or intelligence community deployments; familiarity with FedRAMP, STIGs, or authorization-to-operate processes. - Experience with air-gapped deployments, many isolated environments, or observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or ELK. - Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
