Role overview A remote Sustainability Data Analyst role for someone who enjoys diving deep into complex datasets and validating how sustainability metrics are calculated. The position pairs independent analytical work with regular collaboration across product, engineering, and customer-facing teams to ensure data accuracy and consistency throughout the platform.
Responsibilities - Work hands-on with large, intricate sustainability datasets to support and maintain impact-related content. - Run quality assurance and user acceptance testing on sustainability calculations, metrics, and related outputs for platform-wide reliability. - Update and maintain assessment-defining files based on stakeholder specifications, and manage analytical content that governs customer data exports. - Investigate and resolve data issues by tracing outputs back to source data and underlying logic. - Query data with SQL to support both internal and external customer needs, and help automate and document calculations and metrics. - Partner cross-functionally with product, engineering, and customer teams to align data outputs with platform needs.
Requirements - Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field such as sustainability, environmental engineering, or data science. - 2+ years in an analytical, data-focused, or consulting role. - Strong SQL proficiency and comfort working directly with raw data. - Solid grasp of sustainability concepts like environmental impact measurement or carbon accounting. - Strong attention to detail, persistence through ambiguous data challenges, and the ability to work independently with minimal oversight. - Clear written and verbal communication across technical and non-technical audiences, plus demonstrated AI fluency.
Nice to have - Python experience for data analysis or validation, including building non-production automation tools. - Background in statistics or quantitative analysis, and familiarity with sustainability reporting frameworks.
Benefits and work setup - Annual base salary of $75,000–$90,000 with a 5% annual bonus target, equity, and work-from-home stipends. - US-based benefits include 90% employer-paid employee health premiums and 75% for dependents, 401(k) with up to 4% match, incentive stock options, fully paid parental leave, unlimited PTO, and 13 company holidays.
