Business Intelligence and Analytics Manager, Reporting and Data Analytics

Role overview A contributor-manager role leading a healthcare business intelligence and analytics function responsible for client reporting, compliance reporting, and performance analytics across multiple payer programs. The work centers on healthcare eligibility and claims datasets, building metrics, dashboards, and recurring reports that internal and external stakeholders depend on. The role blends hands-on SQL and reporting work with people leadership and roadmap ownership.

Responsibilities - Own client reporting frameworks, standards, and SLAs, including compliance reporting, metrics, dashboards, and ad hoc reports across programs such as 271/835/NCPDP-based reporting. - Write and optimize production-grade SQL against large-scale claims datasets, owning testing, documentation, and version control of the reporting codebase. - Build crosswalks, joins, and validation logic to integrate eligibility, member, and claims data for ongoing reporting needs. - Investigate reporting discrepancies to root cause and convert one-off findings into sustainable monitoring and automated checks. - Partner with data engineering on pipeline reliability, data quality monitoring, and upstream changes that affect downstream reporting. - Coordinate with counterparts to resolve upstream data issues such as rejections, reprocessing, and eligibility gaps, and act as the reporting-side liaison to clients. - Manage a team of reporting analysts, setting priorities, reviewing work, providing coaching, and owning the reporting and data roadmap.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Business, Analytics, Healthcare Analytics, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience. - Prior management experience leading, mentoring, or managing others, including direct feedback on technical work and handling day-to-day performance and workload issues. - 5+ years in business intelligence, healthcare claims data analysis, or analytics engineering, including time as the most senior analytics contributor on a team or initiative. - Deep knowledge of healthcare claims data, NCPDP, Member and Eligibility files, and standard transaction formats such as 837/835/271. - Advanced SQL skills, including the ability to write, read, debug, and performance-tune complex queries against large claims datasets without assistance. - Hands-on experience with a modern BI/reporting platform and a cloud data warehouse such as Snowflake or comparable. - Track record of building or overhauling client-facing reporting from an immature or inconsistent foundation and integrating data across disparate, loosely documented sources. - Strong written and verbal communication with internal executives and external clients, comfort operating with limited structure, and ability to prioritize independently against business goals.
