Product Engineer

Role overview A hybrid builder role that identifies high-leverage opportunities across the business and turns them into working prototypes using AI-assisted development, then hands them off to engineering for production scale. The position blends product management, development, and solutions architecture—partnering with teams across operations, sales, marketing, finance, customer support, and academic functions to find where value can be created.

Responsibilities - Embed with stakeholders across business areas to map how work actually gets done and surface unmet needs, missing capabilities, or broken workflows - Frame and qualify opportunities, then build the business case with finance and product partners before committing team time - Design and build proof-of-concept and pilot solutions as working software, leveraging AI-assisted development tools to move quickly - Connect prototypes to real systems of record using approved integration patterns, reading and writing only through sanctioned requests - Run pilots with real users, instrument outcomes, and iterate based on evidence - Graduate prototypes to production in partnership with IT, writing clean, reviewable code that engineering can adopt - Document architecture, decisions, and assumptions to ensure work survives handoff - Surface patterns, edge cases, and insights from each project to inform the broader product and platform roadmap

Requirements - 1-3 years of experience building software, products, or automations in a role where you owned outcomes rather than just executing assigned tickets (strong new-grad candidates with a demonstrable portfolio will be considered for entry level) - Demonstrated full-stack ability: standing up a working front end and wiring it to back-end logic and data - Evidence of running discovery with stakeholders or users and translating findings into something you built - AI-assisted development fluency, including comfort with coding agents and LLM application patterns, with an ability to learn new tools quickly - Clear written and verbal communication—able to explain a tradeoff to a business leader and a data model to an engineer in the same conversation - Strong customer focus with insights-driven prioritization - Bias toward shipping: preferring a rough working prototype in front of a user this week
