Senior Software Enginner (Full-stack Node + React)

Role overview A senior full-stack engineer is needed to design, build, and maintain the systems behind a financial platform serving cross-border payments and online-work flows. The role sits within an autonomous product pod, taking ownership of features end-to-end across backend services and frontend interfaces. Expect to mentor peers, coordinate across pods, and rely on AI-assisted development tools as part of daily work.

Responsibilities - Lead technical design for medium-to-large features spanning backend services and UI, documenting decisions and anticipating edge cases - Build and maintain TypeScript and Node.js microservices, event handlers, and scheduled jobs alongside React-based front-ends that power core financial flows - Use AI coding assistants and agentic tools for scaffolding, refactoring, test generation, and review while validating correctness and judging appropriate reliance - Drive project delivery from problem breakdown through design, implementation, deployment, and post-release support - Write well-tested, maintainable code, conduct thorough reviews including AI-generated output, and uphold quality standards across the team - Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, including guidance on responsible AI tool usage, and participate in on-call rotation for owned services

Requirements - Five or more years of professional software engineering experience with demonstrated range across backend services and production UIs - Proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js for production services plus React for production-facing interfaces, including state management and component design - Experience designing REST or GraphQL APIs and a solid understanding of relational databases such as PostgreSQL, including modeling and migrations - Familiarity with event-driven architecture and messaging systems like Kafka or SQS, plus hands-on work in microservices environments - Day-to-day experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Copilot, Cursor, or similar, including prompt and context engineering with sound judgment on validating outputs - Comfort operating in a cloud environment (AWS preferred), with grasp of deployments, logs, and testing strategies across unit, integration, and end-to-end layers

Nice to have - Background integrating AI or LLM-powered features such as retrieval, agents, tool calling, or prompt pipelines - Familiarity with Kubernetes and container-based deployments, CI/CD tooling, and observability platforms - Experience in fintech, payments, or other regulated financial systems - GraphQL federation or schema design experience and a track record mentoring engineers or leading technical design discussions
