Role overview
Lead design for a product area serving IT professionals who move organizations into and around Microsoft 365 or manage its security and governance. You’ll work with product and engineering partners from early problem framing through launch, then use customer feedback and product results to guide what comes next.
Responsibilities - Shape end-to-end workflows for complex, high-stakes business tasks, including experiences where AI helps complete work while users remain in control. - Turn complicated situations into clear interfaces that help expert users understand their options and act with confidence. - Test ideas with customers early, measure outcomes, and adjust direction based on what you learn. - Use AI in your design process to create and evaluate working concepts quickly. - Explain design decisions and trade-offs, contribute to critique, and raise the quality of work across the team. - Refine and polish designs in the product, including making changes through to production.
Requirements - At least six years designing complex business software, with examples of work owned from discovery through delivery. - A systems perspective: ability to design complete journeys and anticipate downstream effects. - Strong judgment around consequential design decisions, such as what users see, confirm, or can undo. - Regular customer research and a willingness to change course based on observed behavior. - Ability to explain design rationale and trade-offs to design, engineering, and executive audiences. - Practical fluency with AI tools, comfort working through ambiguity, and willingness to take ownership through implementation.
Nice to have - Experience designing for IT, security, data, or another expert audience where mistakes carry significant consequences.
Benefits and work setup - Remote work, with access to an office in Montreal; team gatherings are held twice a year. - Annual bonus and long-term incentive programs, retirement savings contributions, family health coverage, telemedicine, a wellness budget, and flexible vacation. - The listed base salary is CAD $125,000–$160,000, with offers adjusted for regional market conditions.
