Product Design Intern

Role overview Support user experience design for a digital lending platform through research, feature design, prototyping, and design system contributions. The internship is highly collaborative, with work spanning product, research, and engineering from early concepts through launch.

Responsibilities - Work with a researcher on at least one project, helping conduct interviews, usability tests, and surveys and translating findings into product insights. - Collaborate with engineers and a product manager to design and ship at least one feature, from initial flows and wireframes through live release. - Build interactive prototypes in Figma to explore and test design ideas with users. - Help define and deliver a reusable design system component or primitive with design and engineering partners. - Present work in regular design critiques, explaining decisions and incorporating feedback.

Requirements - Be at least 21 by January 12, 2027, and available for the full six-month internship. - Strong UX writing skills and the ability to create clear, concise interface copy. - Systems thinking: recognize patterns and turn them into reusable components. - Visual and interaction design skills, with care for detail and usability. - Comfortable using macOS and proficient with tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud. - Able to manage work through completion, meet deadlines, collaborate iteratively, and explain design reasoning to varied audiences.

Nice to have - Experience using AI design tools to explore or prototype ideas.

Benefits and work setup - US-based, remote volunteer internship, part time at 24–32 hours per week, running January 12 through June 30, 2027. - Monthly stipend of $800 before taxes. - Includes professional development workshops, access to an alumni network, and optional employee groups and social events.
