Senior Product Designer - ShareGate

Role overview Own the design of a complex business software product area, from identifying customer problems through launch and ongoing learning. The work focuses on making high-stakes data migration or governance tasks feel understandable and trustworthy for IT professionals. You’ll partner closely with product and engineering leads and shape solutions through early customer feedback and iterative delivery.

Responsibilities - Frame problems with the product team and carry design work through shipping and post-launch learning. - Create AI-assisted product flows that do useful work for customers while keeping them informed and in control. - Simplify complicated workflows so expert users can understand their options and act with confidence. - Test bold ideas with customers early, measure results, and adjust direction based on what you learn. - Use AI tools in your design process to build and test ideas quickly. - Explain design choices, trade-offs, and rationale to designers, engineers, and executives. - Refine and polish design details in the live product, working toward production-ready improvements.

Requirements - 6+ years designing complex business software, with shipped work owned from initial problem framing through detailed execution. - Systems-level thinking across full user journeys and downstream effects, not just individual screens. - Strong judgment for consequential interaction decisions, including what users see, confirm, and can reverse. - Regular practice speaking with customers and adapting design decisions based on observed behavior. - Ability to work with an unclear brief, state assumptions, choose a direction, and learn through iteration. - Fluency with AI in design work and the judgment to use it appropriately.

Nice to have - Experience designing for IT, security, data, or other expert audiences where errors have significant consequences.
