Senior Software Engineer - LATAM

Role overview Take technical ownership of an AI-supported claims automation system that reads veterinary invoices and records, determines coverage, and helps process reimbursements. You’ll improve the system’s cost, reliability, and flexibility, then expand the range of claims it can resolve without manual review. The role is remote within Latin America and requires at least six hours of overlap with US Eastern Time.

Responsibilities - Become a core owner of the claims pipeline, shipping and reviewing changes from design through production. - Reduce model and processing costs while maintaining or improving decision accuracy. - Break the pipeline into stages that can be tested, changed, and released independently, using evaluations to gate changes. - Build automation for additional claim types in partnership with Product. - Apply AI to veterinary records to improve coverage decisions and reduce the need for manual handling. - Use coding agents and AI review tools as part of day-to-day engineering work while maintaining quality.

Requirements - Production experience shipping an LLM-powered feature that affects real users or financial outcomes. - Experience setting up evaluations before launch, versioning prompts and models, and planning rollbacks. - Track record designing or substantially refactoring a business-critical system without disrupting service. - Ability to take over a complex existing system and improve its design through implementation and code reviews. - Demonstrated judgment balancing model cost and output quality, supported by measured results. - Strong Python skills; Django and TypeScript experience are useful.
