Role overview
A temporary six-month, full-time producer role at a podcast network focused on narrative and true-crime audio. The position blends editorial judgment with platform-native storytelling to grow the network's YouTube and social media presence through long-form interview video and short-form vertical clips.
Responsibilities
- Produce long-form YouTube video content from scheduling recording through final publish, including initial editorial cuts and working with video editors - Produce short-form vertical video for YouTube Shorts and other social platforms, translating audio moments into visual stories - Create thumbnails, titles, captions, and copy optimized for each platform and algorithm - Develop image assets, GIFs, stories, reels, motion graphics, and platform-specific variants for promotion - Track performance metrics such as views, reach, engagement, and follower growth, feeding insights back into creative strategy - Maintain an archive of assets and templates while iterating production workflows for efficiency
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to produce both long-form and short-form video, especially for talk-based or interview-driven formats - Strong storytelling instincts and editorial taste for spotting moments that hook viewers - Solid understanding of Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Facebook mechanics and best practices - Editing proficiency in tools like Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or After Effects, plus comfort with static image creation - Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize under tight deadlines, and collaborate closely - Strong written and verbal communication skills plus attentiveness to performance metrics

- Experience working in podcast media or other editorial-driven media brands - Familiarity with audio editing or podcast production workflows
