The role blends on-camera or behind-the-scenes video work with text-based news and enterprise pieces for a large national newsroom. It is a hybrid role that includes regular in-office attendance and extensive travel across the state.
Responsibilities

Nice to have
- Foundational knowledge of legal, ethical, and usage considerations for visual journalism. - Willingness to experiment with new storytelling approaches and adapt as the newsroom's needs evolve. - Strong cross-format instincts and a track record of scoops or stories that shaped public conversation.
Benefits and work setup
- Hybrid position based in Texas with regular in-office attendance each week and extensive travel across the state. - Reports to a regional editor and a senior video producer, with collaboration across national and video teams. - Position is represented by a journalists' union, with reasonable accommodations available during the hiring process.
