WordPress Developer

Role overview Build and maintain a consumer-facing WordPress website for an online real estate marketplace. You will work across frontend development, PHP, technical SEO, and performance, collaborating with content and SEO colleagues to deliver a responsive and reliable user experience.

Responsibilities - Develop and improve website features using WordPress, PHP, JavaScript, and CSS. - Implement technical SEO requirements with content and SEO teams, including attention to site speed, mobile indexing, and structured data. - Improve code efficiency and investigate issues that affect website reliability or performance. - Integrate external services through REST or GraphQL APIs, handling requests, responses, and JSON data. - Maintain efficient database interactions and use version control to manage WordPress changes.

Requirements - At least 3 years of relevant experience with the listed web development stack. - Strong HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and AJAX skills, including careful scoping of frontend code. - PHP experience creating and maintaining classes, hooks, filters, and actions, and troubleshooting issues. - Solid WordPress experience with custom post types, PHP templates, themes, plugins, and built-in functions. - Experience integrating external APIs and working with MySQL and efficient queries. - At least 2 years using Git for WordPress work, including command-line and repository workflows; ability to identify and address potential issues.

Nice to have - Experience with Advanced Custom Fields or Gutenberg. - Familiarity with Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager, including custom events and data-layer tracking.
