Role overview
This hands-on management seat guides a team of Forward Deployed Engineers delivering complex enterprise deployments on a data and AI security platform. You will balance people leadership, program delivery, and customer outcomes across a portfolio of accounts spanning data, security, privacy, and AI workloads. The role requires both technical depth in deployment and infrastructure and the organizational skill to manage multiple concurrent engagements.
Responsibilities
- Manage and grow a team of Forward Deployed Engineers, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, and career development - Own delivery across a portfolio of enterprise accounts, including planning, milestones, risks, and timelines - Balance team workload and account assignments based on skills, customer priorities, and capacity - Set operating rhythms for status updates, delivery tracking, and escalation management - Review solution architecture, guide complex technical decisions, and resolve escalations - Support deployments across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments including Kubernetes, containers, and Linux - Partner with Sales Engineering, Product, Customer Success, and Professional Services on pursuits and escalations - Champion AI-forward tooling and engineering workflows that improve team speed and quality
Requirements
- 8 to 12+ years of experience in technical, customer-facing delivery roles such as forward-deployed engineering, solutions engineering, or technical consulting - Experience managing engineers or technical delivery teams including hiring and performance management - Strong program management skills with experience handling multiple accounts, timelines, and risks - Technical depth in Kubernetes, containers, Linux, cloud platforms, and hybrid environments - Ability to review architecture, understand systems and code, and challenge assumptions - Experience leading customer escalations with clarity and accountability - High-ownership mindset and ability to build structure across people, programs, and customers
Nice to have
- Familiarity with DSPM, CSPM, DLP, data governance, or related security domains - Experience with regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, SOC 2, or ISO 27001 across multiple geographies - Experience with delivery or project management tools for multi-account programs
