Lead Developer (Contentful)

Role overview Lead the engineering delivery of an enterprise migration from a traditional content platform to a headless CMS, spanning content, applications, and integrations. Guide the development team and stay hands-on for complex implementation work, while building a scalable solution and introducing practical AI-assisted, specification-led engineering practices.

Responsibilities - Coordinate migration implementation across content, applications, and integrations, working with architects on solution options and technical decisions. - Plan content models, transformation, migration automation, and validation. - Guide the modernization of existing applications, including React frontends and supporting services. - Set standards for code quality, automated testing, CI/CD, releases, and migration readiness. - Use AI tools to support analysis, migration, modernization, and testing; establish review and security controls for generated outputs. - Mentor developers, manage technical risks and dependencies, and explain trade-offs to stakeholders.

Requirements - Significant engineering experience, including technical leadership on complex digital platform work. - Experience with enterprise CMS migrations, replatforming, or major headless CMS implementations. - Practical knowledge of Contentful, Sitecore, and migration or integration challenges. - Strong understanding of React, TypeScript, API-driven systems, and application modernization. - Experience setting technical direction and maintaining delivery quality across an engineering team. - Practical use of AI-assisted development, with sound judgment about security, quality, and accountability.
