Role overview
The Automation Program Lead will direct automation and digital systems work for a large-scale pharmaceutical manufacturing expansion on the East Coast. This is a senior program leadership role focused on a greenfield build, overseeing the integration of control systems and ensuring computerized system readiness across an entirely new campus. The position bridges automation strategy with commissioning and qualification execution.
Responsibilities
- Develop automation commissioning and qualification strategies aligned with capital project goals - Coordinate activities across controls, SCADA, MES, and related digital systems - Lead workstreams spanning Automation Governance, Digital Systems Integration, MES/EBR Governance, CSV Coordination, and Deployment Readiness - Drive cross-functional alignment between automation teams and CQV (Commissioning, Qualification, and Validation) teams - Ensure delivery milestones and regulatory readiness for a greenfield pharma/biotech campus
Requirements
- Extensive DeltaV platform experience (strongly preferred) - Demonstrated track record leading automation programs on greenfield pharmaceutical or biotech builds - Experience with large capital projects involving automation and digital systems qualification - Strong leadership capability to coordinate across controls, SCADA, MES, and CSV functions
Nice to have
- Background in life sciences manufacturing environments - Familiarity with GAMP-style computerized systems validation frameworks
