Senior Shopify Developer

Role overview Lead end-to-end Shopify engineering for client stores, from understanding requirements through launch and ongoing support. The work spans storefront development, custom apps, point-of-sale setups and integrations, while also setting technical standards and reviewing junior developers’ work.

Responsibilities - Build and adapt Online Store 2.0 themes using Liquid, sections, blocks, metafields and metaobjects; add JavaScript or Liquid logic where existing apps do not meet requirements. - Develop custom and private apps with Shopify Admin and Storefront APIs, GraphQL or REST, webhooks and App Bridge. - Configure Shopify POS, including extensions and hardware, and connect in-store and online inventory, orders and customer records. - Integrate stores with business systems such as ERP, inventory, accounting, payments, shipping, marketplaces and CRM tools. - Deliver checkout rules and enhancements, store migrations, performance improvements, technical SEO and automation; troubleshoot live stores carefully. - Review and guide junior developers and interns, helping establish consistent Shopify development practices.

Requirements - At least five years of hands-on Shopify development, with live store work to demonstrate. - Strong Liquid, JavaScript, HTML and CSS skills, plus working knowledge of Node.js or a similar backend technology. - Practical experience configuring Shopify POS and its integrations. - Experience with Shopify APIs, webhooks, app development and integrations with external business systems. - Familiarity with Git, Shopify theme tooling, development stores, previews and safe publishing workflows. - Clear written English for collaboration with clients and teammates.

Nice to have - Shopify Plus, Checkout Extensibility or Shopify Functions experience; Hydrogen or headless storefront work; published apps or themes; or experience mentoring developers.

Benefits and work setup Full-time, remote role based in India, with regular working hours and availability for client calls. Monthly pay is ₹30,000–₹50,000, depending on experience and technical assessment.
