Full-Stack Engineer

Role overview Build and maintain software spanning customer-facing experiences and the systems that support application workflows. This individual contributor role emphasizes backend engineering, while also collaborating across the full stack and contributing throughout design, implementation, testing, and deployment. The work includes making practical delivery trade-offs while maintaining reliable, high-quality software.

Responsibilities - Design backend services and APIs using JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js. - Develop and maintain PostgreSQL databases, with attention to data integrity and performance in a Salesforce-connected environment. - Build and deploy serverless services on AWS, using infrastructure-as-code tools to manage cloud resources. - Integrate backend capabilities with a modern React application stack and collaborate with frontend engineers on responsive experiences. - Contribute to product and engineering work that uses AI services, including both development workflows and product features. - Participate across the software lifecycle: clarify requirements, shape designs, implement changes, test, deploy, and work with product and QA to resolve issues. - Recommend improvements to engineering practices and cloud systems as needs evolve.

Requirements - Four to six years of full-stack engineering experience, with a strong backend focus. - Strong JavaScript and TypeScript skills, including experience building server-side applications with Node.js. - Expertise in PostgreSQL or a comparable relational database, including database design. - Experience with AWS Lambda and infrastructure as code using Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation. - Hands-on experience using Claude Code or a similar AI coding tool to build development tools and workflows, beyond individual chat use. - Familiarity with analytics and event-tracking tools, plus testing frameworks such as Playwright, Jest, or Mocha. - Understanding of cloud delivery pipelines and the software development lifecycle; ability to collaborate effectively with product and QA teams. - Strong problem-solving and communication skills, adaptability, and comfort in a fast-moving early-stage company. - Must be based in the United States; Pacific or Mountain time zones are preferred.

Nice to have - Experience with Heroku Connect and Salesforce.
