Role overview Contribute to a developer-first identity platform that delivers authentication, authorization, and emerging agentic identity experiences at scale. This backend engineering role focuses on shipping new API surfaces and core identity flows within a small, high-ownership team environment that operates with startup velocity.
Responsibilities - Design and build backend capabilities for the identity platform, including authentication flows and support for non-human or agentic identity use cases. - Partner with product and engineering leadership to translate customer needs into roadmap features and deliver high-impact releases. - Collaborate across teams to align on architecture decisions, integrate platform capabilities, and unblock cross-team initiatives. - Take deep technical ownership by authoring design documents, driving key decisions, reviewing code, and staying close to production systems. - Improve production quality through strong observability, incident response, and remediation practices. - Mentor teammates through pairing, feedback, and knowledge sharing to elevate the team's technical bar.
Requirements - Three or more years of experience designing, building, and operating high-scale, mission-critical cloud-based production systems. - Proficiency in a modern production-grade programming language with a track record of applying sound coding standards. - Extensive hands-on experience with RESTful API design and development. - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to participate in a non-standard on-call rotation that may include weekends and holidays.
Nice to have - Familiarity with Go, TypeScript, and DynamoDB. - Background building developer tools or SDKs. - Experience owning products consumed by paying customers.
