Role overview Lead a regional developer relations function covering North and Latin America, inspiring and equipping a large community of developers to build modern customer engagement solutions. This is a people-management role that pairs hands-on community leadership with cross-functional strategy across marketing, product, and sales.
Responsibilities - Define and own the regional developer evangelism strategy, partnering across functions to align on programs, events, and engagement priorities. - Lead, mentor, and develop a distributed team of developer evangelists serving multiple countries across the Americas. - Serve as an active, authentic voice in developer communities online and at in-person gatherings. - Establish success metrics and expand evangelism programs, internal collaborations, and external initiatives in a data-driven way. - Communicate plans, progress, and outcomes to stakeholders at all levels and contribute to global developer network strategy as part of the extended leadership team. - Coordinate with product, marketing, and sales to ensure developers have an excellent experience building on the platform.
Requirements - 8+ years of experience in developer relations, developer community, or closely related roles. - 3-5 years of people management experience, including mentoring individual contributors. - Track record of leading cross-functional initiatives at scale across departments such as sales, product, marketing, and support. - Demonstrated ability to grow developer programs regionally, including running meetups, conferences, or community campaigns. - Strong influencing, problem-solving, consensus-building, and interpersonal communication skills. - Professional fluency in Spanish or Portuguese. - Genuine enthusiasm for serving and supporting developer communities with authenticity.
Nice to have - Prior experience leading developer evangelism or related functions specifically within a defined region. - Creative, data-driven approach to problem solving and program design.
