Platform Operations Engineer
Job details
About this role
Role overview
A fully remote opportunity for an engineer with a few years of SRE or DevOps experience who wants to deepen their craft within a healthcare-focused technology platform. The role supports container infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and observability tooling, working alongside experienced engineers with real input into platform decisions. It's a strong fit for someone ready to take on more responsibility as the team and its tooling evolve.
Responsibilities
- Help manage the container environment on Amazon EKS and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and ArgoCD-based GitOps workflows - Track SLIs and SLOs, participate in on-call rotations, and support incident response, root cause analysis, post-mortems, and disaster recovery planning - Maintain the monitoring and logging stack using Datadog, Sentry, and CloudWatch to give engineering teams visibility into system health - Collaborate on infrastructure decisions, build internal tooling, and develop self-service workflows that scale with the platform
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or cloud infrastructure roles - Working knowledge of core AWS services including VPC, IAM, EKS, and RDS, plus cloud networking and security fundamentals - Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or Crossplane - Comfort with GitHub and GitHub Actions as part of a CI/CD and automation pipeline, not just source control - Exposure to running Kubernetes clusters, deploying applications via Helm charts, and using GitOps workflows like ArgoCD or Flux - Familiarity with observability tooling such as Datadog, Sentry, CloudWatch, or Grafana, including building alerts, dashboards, or log pipelines - Python scripting experience for automating infrastructure tasks or gluing systems together - Comfort working independently in a remote setup, asking questions when needed and keeping momentum without close supervision - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience (non-traditional backgrounds welcome)
Nice to have
- AWS, Kubernetes, or Terraform certifications
Benefits and work setup
- Competitive pay with equity options - Medical, dental, and vision plans with FSA, DCFSA, and HSA options - Company-sponsored disability and life insurance - Unlimited PTO and 401(k) with 4% matching - Fully remote work with flexible hours - $750 work-from-home setup budget - $1,200 annual learning and development stipend - Monthly health and wellness benefit, quarterly coworking stipend, paid biannual company summits - Generous paid family leave
